RuPal’s Drag Race

I’ve been so behind on blogging recently. About a week ago I went to see Manlia Luzon from RuPaul’s Drag Race perform at the Revolution at the Mirage. I really think she should have won the Drag Race and seeing a few of them in person, including Raja the one that did win, made me believe even more that she should have won. We showed up a bit early because we had no idea what time they would be performing, by the time their performance was coming around we had spent a lot on booze, and they kicked us out of our table- and told us that we would have to buy a bottle in order to stay there. I was angry as were the people with me spending money on booze, had we known this we would have just bought a bottle. The manager told me if they came on stage and I couldn’t see them, he gave me permission to go behind the DJ booth (which is right at the stage) so that was nice, standing around in heels for an hour with screaming guys was not so nice. I ended up with a good view, but I still went behind the booth cause I could. The “girls” that showed up were, Raja, Manlia, Delta, Carmen and Raven (outta drag). Delta performed first and that lady is a fierce queen.

Not only was she really good at performing, but we chatted a bit and she was the sweetest queen I’ve ever met- I’ve met a lot of queens and she didn’t act like any I’ve ever met. I wish we got to see more of her on the show.

Manlia of course does not disappoint, wow she is stunning. I wish I looked that good when I dressed up. Seriously, she is the prettiest “guy” I’ve ever seen – her legs make me jealous. Her outfit was very cool, I would have done without the big earrinngs, but she can do what she wants, she is amazing.

I mostly went to see her, so most of the photos I took are of her. She left the stage BANKING. I am glad she makes so much money with her performance, she will for sure end up getting the 75,000 that she should have won if she keeps going on tour like this. She walked off with the most bills in her hand and it wasn’t just a bunch of singles either. (I for example gave her $5′s as did a lot of the people around me) I have been disappointed at every season of  Drag Race, but this one bothered me the most. The 1st season I wanted Nina to win, then Raven, then Manlia- either I have a problem with picking the 2nd placers or I don’t know the hidden agenda behind the show- which there is one for sure. Here’s some more pics of Manlia:

Look at those legs!

Work it Manlia!

I know I am not a fan of Raja, but many are. I just think that for a “drag queen” super star that will be out there in the public representing queens, trans-gender, gay and lesbians, she is lacking a whole LOT of things she needs.

Raja

In my opinion she won to plug her music career and is mostly doing everything has a man and not even in drag, so what was the point? Anyhow- here’s some pics of her/him. She “lip sang” very badly a Madonna song which I love. I think because he’s not a performer he doesn’t have a style, she tried to throw in sexual moves and be funny about it- it just didn’t suit her at all. She’s not the funny one, not the sexy one, she was the one that looked like she can work a runway- not a drag stage.

Raga Gaga?

He performed his own song at the end and took off his shirt, queens don’t do that unless that got something fancy under there, so I count that as him performing as a boy with makeup on, the outfit was also very trashy Lady Gaga. Drag Queens don’t show your boy parts ever.

Raja- Not the next Drag Superstar.

Enough about Raja, although I am going to see Dita Von Teese next week and to my surprise Raja will be opening for her. I guess to make Dita look even better than she does already, but anyways- LOOK at Miss Carmen Carrera! Yes, she really is THAT pretty.
